On Sunday 14 May 2023, the inaugural Cultural Style Week shopping event took place in the heart of North London.
The pre-week shopping event allowed people to explore and connect with the many cultures of London and was an excellent opportunity for people to buy culturally diverse fashion and beauty items in good time to prepare for Cultural Style Week.
The stalls exhibited a diverse mix of cultural fashion from across the globe including India, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Africa, China, Japan, West Africa, the Caribbean and more!
The day was brightened up by the presence of our gracious Cultural Style Week hostess, Nayha. Cultural Style Week Scottish brand ambassador Robert Phillips and Diwali Model Nafeesa Osman also joined the team on the day.
Hanfu, the traditional dress style of the Han Chinese was well represented by the experiential brand Haloviva as well as the Hanfu fashion label Yun Gui Hanfu.
Additionally we also had Ethnic Chinese fashion and accessories from YiCrafts.
For more eastern immersion, Kimono De Go offers kimono hire as well as other support services such as hair design and make-up for anyone who wants to present an authentically Japanese look.
Uzbek fashion brand, Anor Living showed off a gorgeous collection of coats, jackets, dresses and trousers manufactured from ikat fabrics.
Zanen-Zanen, had a beautiful range of African accessories, specially hand-picked from Nigeria. These items included hair accessories, earrings and some of the most gorgeous bags and purses.
We also had the Afrocentric fashion brands Zirachi and Afi Akos by our Cultural Style Week Ghanaian ambassador Richmond Osei.
Creole Caribbean brand Sakafet London, whose beautifully crafted madras clothing and accessories are always a hit at Cultural Style Week events.
Touch Heart Jewellery, Rapringz and Pieces of Me, had wonderful jewellery and accessories to brighten up any outfit.
Dharti the Store showcased their versatile range of hand block printed garments. These items are all ethically manufactured by Indian artisans using organic dyes.
Moorni Official also had wonderful Dupattas and accessories.
Ukrainian brands Svitlo and Cafedelmarina had a variety of traditionally inspired Ukrainian embroidery adorned fashion and accessories on offer.
Hair care brand Naturally Nurtured, had natural organic hair care products on offer.
We would like to thank all participating stall holders for the energy and enthusiasm they brought to the Cultural Fashion & Beauty Pop Up Market. We are also grateful to Green Rooms, for making their beautiful space available to us. Most of all, a huge thank you to everyone who came to browse and shop from our vendors.
